Disney and FX just secretly released a new Alien movie disguised as the newest episode of Alien: Earth. FX’s Alien: Earth is obviously the first Alien show in the franchise’s history. Its story is playing out over an eight-episode season, and we’re only slowly learning new things about Wendy, the Lost Boys, Prodigy, and the Xenomorphs’ first canon trip to Earth.
Hidden within Alien: Earth‘s overarching story, however, is a secret eighth Alien movie. Alien: Earth episode 5 followed the events that led to the crash of the USCSS Maginot, a Weyland-Yutani ship that was carrying the alien specimens Prodigy stole in the show’s premiere. In doing so, Earth gave us one of the best Alien movies since Ridley Scott’s original film back in 1979.
